Ribbons Hither and Yon

Ribbons Hither and Yon

So, there was this Vogue pattern that caught my attention, and at the same time there were all sorts of ribbon pieces rolled up on spools on the shelves of my sewing room. Marry the two, and this is what sprang forth. The pattern is a Vogue Koos van den Akkar jacket, number 1493. It has the coolest sleeves which cross and fold over themselves to create a really interesting structured shape. With the folds and ribbon designs created as they are, the underside of the sleeve grabs your attention just as the topside does. A few design change were made: to shorten the jacket, to use a multitude of printed and striped ribbons instead of solid ones, and to add a little slit in the back in order to stitch on yet more ribbon. A chunky weave medium-weight cotton fabric was a great neutral backdrop for the folly to follow. Use up some of the ribbon you have been holding on to, or find your perfect addendum in our assortment.
